Fairy Festivale

The annual Fairy Festival was here. We wait all spring for this. Mia had a brand new fairy costume just waiting to be worn. They give out flower wants, flower crowns and pony rides. The kids and the adults have a wonderful time.

May Day

May is a special month for us. Many birthday are in this month and it finally seems that winter is gone and flowers are starting to bloom.

Today we made some May Day basket and received a maypole to give to the fairies to dance around

Snow Cream

First real snow storm of the season here in Maine, with all that great clean snow, there was only one thing to do beside make a snowman.

SNOW CREAM!!!

We stole the recipe from my good friend Shel over at her blog One Sweet World, and it was tasty.

What we did.

6 cups fresh, clean snow

1 cup milk

1/2 cup sugar

1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Into a large bowl combine cream, sugar, and vanilla.

Mix.

Fold in snow. Coat snow with the mixture, but be careful no to over-mix or it will turn to slush.

Serve immediately.  

The amount that can been accumulating in a bowl I had put out as the storm was starting.

Adding in sugar

Adding in Milk, you can also use light cream.

Final Product was a hit!

Chia Vitality Review

I actually did know about Chia, when I got the book.
The book itself is a great intro to this awesome super food, gives simple layperson terms, on how and why you can and should incorporate it into you daily life and diet.
I love how the author turned this into a lifestyle...the meditations,and the recipes, made it feel like a great lifestyle change
that could be easily done vs. a diet that cannot be kept up.
I did try a few of the recipes and they were amazing,
I have also been putting chia into my smoothies in the morning, with awesome results
Would recommend this to anyone looking to bring a boost to their diet and life.
