Fairs and The mostly Unplugged sunday

On saturday we went to the Milford Oysterfest, with Grammy and Grampy which has been going on...forever, unfortunately we forget to take the camera out of the car, so I do not have any pictures from that day.

Sunday we stopped by the Coventry Farmers Market, which has an event every sunday from july to october, you can check it out at
http://coventryfarmersmarket.com/
It is at the Nathan Hale homestead

They have all sorts of goodies, stuff to look at and taste, Mia had fun running around in the field, we hope to return for a few more sundays till the season is over.

The reason it is called Unplugged sunday is we spent most of the day, off the phone, no tv, and NO computer, I do put on the radio for acoustic sunrise, on 96.5fm, but most people will forgive me.

All in all it was a wonderful weekend, and as the summer starts to fade, I'm looking forward to one of my favorite seasons, Fall and all the fairs, food and fun to be had.

Colored "Sand"

Where we live we don't really have a yard, so we decided to bring a bit of the outdoors inside for a while, especially since it might be a rainy week. Thanks to the internet and the wonderful mom blogs out there, I found an idea for a colored "sandbox" where you take RICE and add food coloring.

You take 4 cups of rice per color, 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol and food coloring, the recipe called for 2 tablespoons of it, but we found that it was over kill and that the strongest color bleed a little onto the other colors, so I tried doing the rest a little lighter, it does come off on your hands for a bit and gets a bit messy, but we clean up nice, and Mia had a ball with it, and we will have more to do on rainy days...A few color were drying still when these picture were taken, we did 4 colors, blue, pink, yellow and green.

Jackman

Craig's parent's have a little slice of heaven in Jackman, Maine, is a sweet little cabin on the edge of a lake. We have an unplugged time when we are there, no tv, no computer, just us and nature. We did go last year but Mia was really too tiny to enjoy it. So this year we were very excited to have her be there now that she is more mobile. She loves to be outside, so it was great to have her run around and play in the lake.

The weather was perfect and the Bean had a ball!
